Chicago Blackhawks Form

Chicago enter the new season looking to improve on a 2024/25 campaign that saw them go 25-46-11 to finish bottom of the Central Division.

The Blackhawks struggled badly for consistency all season long as they won back-to-back games on just four occasions.

There were some long losing skids too, with the longest being a seven-game sequence during the middle of March.

Chicago did at least end the regular season on a positive note though as they won four of their final six outings.

The last two of those games saw the Blackhawks head out on the road to beat Montreal via a shootout and Ottawa in overtime.

Florida Panthers Form

Florida come into the new campaign looking to complete a three-peat of Stanley Cup successes.

The Panthers lifted the trophy in 2024 as they won an epic series with Edmonton, 4-3, and the two teams then contested the NHL’s biggest series again last season.

Paul Maurice’s run to the finals saw them down Tampa Bay, Toronto and Carolina to set up a rematch with the Oilers.

And the outcome was the same as the previous year, as Florida took that series 4-2 to lift the trophy once again.

The Panthers will now look to become the first team to complete a three-peat since the New York Islanders achieved the feat in 1982 as part of an historic four-championship run.
