Edmonton Oilers Form

Edmonton enter this series having staged an impressive comeback to beat Los Angeles in six games in the first round.

The Oilers claimed their place in the postseason by putting together a 48-29-5 record to finish third the Pacific Division, but they made a rough start to the playoffs.

They dug themselves into an early hole in this series as they lost back-to-back games in Los Angeles, 6-5 and 6-2.

Edmonton turned things around when they returned home though, beating the Kings 7-4 in regulation and 4-3 in overtime.

The Oilers then made it three-in-a-row with a 3-1 victory in Los Angeles, before heading back home to complete the comeback with a series-clinching 6-4 victory.

Vegas Golden Knights Form

Vegas come into this series having also staged a comeback to win their first-round series in six games.

The Golden Knights secured their playoff place by finishing atop the Pacific Division with a 50-22-10 record, and they enjoyed a winning start to the postseason.

They began with back-to-back home games and beat Minnesota 4-2 in the series-opener.

Vegas failed to follow that up as they lost 5-2 at home and 5-2 on the road, but they did respond well to that adversity.

The Golden Knights regained the series lead with 4-3 and 3-2 overtime wins, before heading back to St Paul to wrap up the series with a 3-2 victory over the Wild.

Verdict

Home advantage is likely to be critical in this series, and Vegas have been solid at the T-Mobile Arena in recent times.

Edmonton, on the other hand, have gone 1-2 on the road in the playoffs so far, so we are riding with the Golden Knights in Game 1.
