The market is reacting to Jiri Lehecka's loss to Arthur Fils in Doha last week, but this week's much faster conditions tilt the balance in his favour. With Fils also expected to arrive with fatigue, Lehecka's chances look stronger here, making him a solid value pick.

Fils’ Comeback Gaining Serious Traction

Arthur Fils has built strong momentum since returning from injury, reaching the quarterfinals in Montpellier and going a step further to the final in Doha last week.

Even in the early stages of his comeback, he has already proven very tough to beat. All three of his losses in 2026 have come against top-10 players: Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alex de Minaur, and Carlos Alcaraz.

Fils now looks to carry this momentum into Dubai, where he has no points to defend after a first-round loss on debut in 2025, when he was outplayed by the underdog Nuno Borges.

Lehecka Eyes Dubai Redemption

Jiri Lehecka could not defend his semifinal points in Doha last week after a straight-sets quarterfinal loss to Arthur Fils. That defeat cut short what had been a strong run at the event for him in recent seasons.

He will now look to make amends in Dubai, where there is a chance to gain fresh ranking points after a first-round exit here last year. The conditions also offer him a clean opportunity to reset following the Doha setback.

Two of Lehecka’s three previous Dubai campaigns have ended in the first round, but he does have a quarterfinal appearance here in 2024. That past run gives him some proven experience at the tournament despite the mixed record.

Verdict

Lehecka’s odds look slightly inflated due to his recent loss to Fils in Doha, but he finds himself in a much stronger position this week. The faster conditions in Dubai suit him better, while Fils is expected to carry some fatigue after his long run in Doha. All of that sets up Lehecka nicely for a potential win here at a very appealing price.
