Oklahoma are the only team to win the Big 12 since the championship game returned in 2017. Can anyone end their reign in 2021?

No team has been able to stop Oklahoma since the Big 12 Championship Game returned in 2017.
The Sooners have won four straight conference titles and will be seeking number five as they look to return to the playoffs this season.
Oklahoma will be looking for more consistency from quarterback Spencer Rattler and he will have a talented group of receivers and tight ends to throw the ball to.
He will also get plenty of help from running back Kennedy Brooks, who opted out in 2020.
Defensively they have grown under Alex Grinch and while they continue to come up short against the cream of the crop, they have been solid in conference play.
There will be some consistency to the group too with several players returning for 2021.
Oklahoma are certainly primed for another Big 12 Conference crown this season. National honors, however, could be beyond them.

This may be the best ever roster that Iowa State have fielded, but will it be enough to deny Oklahoma?
They have racked up a bunch of wins over ranked teams since Matt Campbell was named head coach.
And last year the Cyclones made it all the way to the Big 12 Championship Game, where they lost 27-21 to the Sooners.
Iowa State return 19 of the 22 starters from 2020 and have a couple of Heisman contenders on offense.
Defensively they have talent at all three levels too, so this is a team that could be about to take the next step.
Beating Oklahoma will not be easy, but Iowa State have never been this good in their history!
While the Sooners are favored, the Cyclones are legitimate contenders to that Big 12 throne in 2021.

Steve Sarkisian has another chance to make an impression as a head coach at a big school having landed the Texas job in January,
Sarkisian impressed during his run as an offensive co-ordinator in Alabama.
He brings with him a bunch of other coaches who have enjoyed national championship successes.
Sarkisian believes he has the talent around him to win a championship, but the Longhorns do look light in certain areas.
It may also take some time for the players to get to grips with a new way of doing things.
So while this is an excellent coaching staff with a good roster at their disposal, some early teething problems could prevent them from taking the Big 12.
