Oregon have recruited well once again this offseason and they appear to be trending upwards.
It has been a while since they were a leading contender nationally but they are getting closer to a breakthrough.
This season may be a year or two early for them, but the Ducks can reign over their conference at least.

Washington are considered the biggest threat to Oregon and the bookies have probably got that right.
While there are question marks about the offense, there are no such concerns on the opposite side of the football.
The Huskies have one of the best defensive groups in the conference – a unit that can help overcome any offensive shortcomings.
They also have a favorable schedule that can help them push Oregon in the race for the Pac-12.

USC lost to Oregon in last season’s Pac-12 Championship Game and return 41 players who started a game in 2020.
For the Trojans to challenge again they need QB Kedon Slovis to eradicate the mistakes that resulted in a bunch of picks last season.
If he can do that he has the tools around him to move the football and put points on the board.
On the opposite side of the football this is an opportunistic defense that racked up 16 takeaways in the shortened 2020 season.
This is a solid USC roster and it is one that could earn a Pac-12 Championship Game appearance.

There is very little change at Arizona State with almost every player from 2020 returning for 2021.
Offensively they look dangerous after a successful 2020 season that saw them lead the conference in scoring and yards per play.
If they become more efficient in the redzone they will be hard to stop.
The Sun Devils also have a solid defense in place, although there is room to improve when it comes to defending against the run.
Arizona State were gashed on the ground last year. Tidy that up and they could be a dark horse.

Utah are hot on the heels of USC and Arizona State in the futures market for the Pac-12.
They are bringing back a bunch of talent on both sides of the football, but there are serious questions at QB.
If the Utes can solved that issue they could help make this race to the Pac-12 Championship Game an exciting one.
