- 2 of Sam Noakes’ last 4 fights have gone the distance
Abdullah Mason Form
Abdullah Mason is a lightweight fighter with a professional record of 19-0, with 17 of his wins coming via knockout.
Mason debuted in the professional ranks in November 2021 and quickly climbed the ladder with a string of knockout wins.
The 21-year-old American fought no less than five times last year, winning every single outing to maintain his perfect record and force his way into title contention.
He knocked out Benjamin Gurment in the second round to start the year, and followed that up with a fourth-round stoppage of Ronal Ron.
Mason then enjoyed a successful summer as he fought twice, stopping Luis Lebron in the third and Mike Ohan Jr in the second, before wrapping up 2024 with a second-round knockout of Yohan Vasquez.
He has remained active this year, fighting three times prior to this world title showdown with Sam Noakes.
The Cleveland-born fighter has stopped Manuel James in the fourth, Carlos Ornelas in the sixth and Jeremia Nakathila in five to stay unbeaten.
Sam Noakes Form
Sam Noakes is a lightweight fighter with a career record of 17-0, with 15 of his victories coming via knockout.
Noakes made his professional debut in September 2019 and reeled off a string of stoppage wins to earn himself a shot at the WBC international silver title.
He stopped Shaun Cooper in the ninth round to win the title, and retained it in March 2022 when he knocked out Vincenzo Finiello in the fourth.
The 28-year-old Englishman then added the Commonwealth title with a fourth-round finish against Calvin McCord, and went on to successful his international silver title by stopping Karthik Sathish Kumar in the second and Carlos Perez in the fourth.
Noakes added the British and WBO international lightweight title by knocking out Lewis Sylvester in round four in February 2024, and two months later he beat Yvan Mendy by unanimous decision to win the European belt.
He fought twice more that year, stopping Gianluca Ceglia in the eighth before beating Ryan Walsh on points.
‘Midge’ then took his perfect record to 17-0 in May of this year as he took out Patrik Balaz inside three rounds.
Verdict
Both men are unbeaten and both men have shown their fight-finishing ability.
However, this is the biggest fight that either of them have had so we expect a more cagey affair, and that plays into the hands of Abdullah Mason.
