Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn Preview & Picks

Chris Eubank Jr is backed to beat Conor Benn for the second time this year.

Benn had his moments in the first meeting, but he was too wild to capitalise when he did appear to trouble his opponent.

Eubank Jr, meanwhile, was more effective in putting together combinations to catch the eye of the judges, and if he avoids a reckless firefight he is likely to take this on the cards again.

  • Chris Eubank Jr won the first fight via decision
  • Chris Eubank Jr has a 5” reach advantage
  • Conor Benn has gone the distance in each of his last 3 fights

Head To Head

  • The Eubank family are 2-0 with 1 draw vs the Benn family
  • Chris Eubank Jr beat Conor Benn by unanimous decision in April 2025

  • Chris Eubank Sr & Nigel Benn went to a split decision draw in October 1993

Chris Eubank Jr Form

Chris Eubank Jr is the current IBO world middleweight champion with a professional record of 35-3 (25 KOs).

Eubank Jr landed his first shot at a world title in February 2017, having won 23 of his first 24 fights, and he took his chance by stopping Renold Quinlan in the 10th to win the IBO super-middleweight title.

He successfully defended that title against experienced former champion Arthur Abraham, winning on points, and he backed that up by knocking out Avni Yildirim in the third round.

His reign came to an end in the World Boxing Super Series tournament though, as he dropped a unanimous decision to George Groves in the semi-finals.

Eubank Jr rebounded quickly though, stopping JJ McDonagh in three rounds, and he then became a world champion for the second time as he out-pointed James DeGale to claim the vacant IBO-super middleweight crown.

The 33-year-old Englishman’s return to middleweight cost him that title, but he maintained his winning ways by stopping Matt Korobov in the second round.

He then registered points wins over Marcus Morrison and Liam Williams either side of a fifth-round stoppage of Wanik Awdijan, but his quest for a world title shot suffered a setback when he was stopped in the fourth round by Liam Smith.

Eubank Jr took the rematch later that year, stopping Smith in the 10th, and he then claimed the vacant IBO middleweight title with a seventh-round stoppage of Kamil Szeremeta.

While his title was not up for grabs in April, he did make it three wins in a row with a unanimous decision victory over Conor Benn.

Conor Benn Form

Conor Benn enters this rematch with a professional record of 23-1 (14 KOs) following his loss to Chris Eubank Jr earlier this year.

Benn will once again make the step up from welterweight, where he made several successful defences of his WBA continental title.

He beat Cedrick Peynaud on points to win the title in July 2018, and in his first two defences he knocked out Jussi Koivula in the second round and Steve Jamoye in the fourth.

From there, Benn then earned a unanimous decision win over Sebastian Formella, before taking just 80 seconds to dispatch Samuel Vargas.

His then recorded a unanimous decision win over Adrian Granados, before backing that up with a fourth-round stoppage of Chris Algieri and second round knockout of Chris van Heerden.

That victory set up a showdown with Chris Eubank Jr in 2022, but the fight was cancelled when Benn failed a drug test in the lead-up to it.

He was cleared to return to the ring in 2023 and travelled to the United States for his first two fights back, beating Rodolfo Orozco and Peter Dobson on points.

That finally led to a showdown with Chris Eubank Jr in April of this year, but he came up short in the grudge match as he lost by unanimous decision.

Verdict

Conor Benn had his moments in the first fight, but not enough to make us believe he can win the rematch.

Chris Eubank Jr is the better boxer and he does have a size advantage, so if he avoids being dragged brawl, he can out-point Benn over 12 rounds.
