Tyson Fury Form
Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury returns to the professional boxing ring with a record of 34-2 (24 KOs) with 1 draw.
Fury, who debuted in December 2008, won European, Commonwealth and British titles on his way to securing a first world title fight back in November 2015.
He took his big chance, claiming the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine champion with a unanimous decision victory over the legendary Wladimir Klitschko, but never defended those crowns as he stepped away from the sport for over two-and-a-half years.
When he did return to action, he stopped Sefer Seferi in four rounds and beat Francesco Pianeta on points to set up the first of his trilogy of fights with Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight crown.
Fury dominated large parts of that contest, but had to survive a couple of late knockdowns as they bout went to a controversial split decision draw.
Instead of opting for an immediate rematch, the now 37-year-old instead took on a couple of warm-up fights, knocking out Tom Schwarz in the second round before beating Otto Wallin via unanimous decision.
And when he did face Wilder for the second time – in February 2020 – he left no doubts as he picked apart the ‘Bronze Bomber’ before stopping him in the seventh round.
‘The Gypsy King’ took the trilogy fight too, via 11th round knockout, before returning home to stop domestic rivals Dillian Whyte, in the sixth, and Derek Chisora, in the 10t
He then survived an embarrassing early knockdown against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou to escape with a split decision, before turning his attention to Oleksandr Usyk for a long-awaited unification fight.
Fury was unable to become undisputed heavyeight champion of the world though, as he lost via split decision to the former cruiserweight kingpin in May 2024.
The two men fought again that December, and this time all three judges came down on the side of Usyk – a result that sent Fury into retirement until now.
Arslanbek Makhmudov Form
Arslanbek Makhmudov is a Russian heavyweight with a professional record of 21-2 (19 KOs).
Makhmudov entered the pro ranks in December 2017 after moving to Canada, and he quickly climbed the ladder on the North American scene as he won minor regional and national titles.
His first notable fight came in February 2022 when he knocked out Mariusz Wach in the sixth round, and that was followed by a unanimous decision win over former world title challenger Carlos Takam.
From there he stopped Michael Wallisch in four rounds, Raphael Akpejiori in two rounds and, Junior Anthony Wright in 70 seconds, before suffering his first career loss as he was knocked out by Agit Kabayel in the fourth round.
Makhmudov put that behind him with a second-round knockout of Miljan Rovcanin, only to then suffer an eighth-round knockout loss at the hands of Guido Vianello.
The 36-year-old has not lost since though, following up a 117-second demolition of Ricardo Brown with a unanimous decision win over David Allen last October.
