BC come into this game having lost three of their last four games but still in the playoff race at 7-4.
The Lions raced out of the blocks this season as they followed up a 25-15 win at Calgary and 22-0 shutout of Saskatchewan with an impressive 30-6 victory in Winnipeg.
They were brought back down to Earth a week later as they lost 45-24 at defending champions Toronto, only to rebound immediately with a 35-19 win at home to Montreal.
BC backed that up after the bye week with a 19-9 win against Saskatchewan and a 27-0 victory in Edmonton, but their run was halted by a 50-14 blowout loss in Winnipeg.
The Lions rebounded to beat Calgary 37-9, although their joy was short-lived as they then lost 34-29 at Saskatchewan and 30-13 at home to Hamilton.
Montreal Alouettes Form
Montreal have forced themselves into playoff contention with three wins in their last four games to improve to 6-4.
The Alouettes opened the 2023 campaign with a 19-12 win over Ottawa and a 38-12 victory at Hamilton.
The schedule got a lot tougher after that though and they sandwiched a 35-19 defeat at the BC Lions with a 17-3 home loss to Winnipeg and a 35-27 home defeat to Toronto.
Montreal’s response to that three-game skid was a four-game win streak that started with a 25-18 win against Calgary, which was followed by victories over Hamilton (27-14), Saskatchewan (41-12) and Ottawa (25-24).
The Alouettes failed to make it five wins in a row though suffering a 47-17 loss at Winnipeg last time out.
Verdict
BC are the better team, but it is Montreal who are in better form so we like the chances of them at least running the Lions close.
