Edmonton head to British Columbia having won back-to-back games, but at 7-9 they remain bottom of the West standings.
The Elks dug themselves into a huge early hole as they lost six of their first seven games of the regular season, only to rally in August.
They reeled off three consecutive wins, before rebounding from a loss in Calgary with a 31-19 victory at home to the Stampeders a week later.
Edmonton failed to retain that momentum, as they were beaten 31-30 in Toronto and 29-27 at Hamilton, but they have got back to winning ways in recent weeks.
The Elks went into the bye on the back of a 27-25 win over Saskatchewan, and returned to action with a 25-20 victory over Winnipeg.
BC Lions Form
BC enter this matchup having reeled off four consecutive wins – their best run of the season – to secure a playoff place at 9-7.
The Lions endured a rollercoaster run during the first two months of the season, as they went 3-3 in their opening six games.
That continued in August as they started the month with back-to-back wins, only to then lose their next two games on the road, 52-34 in Toronto and 34-33 at Ottawa.
BC have found some form over the past several weeks though, sparking a four-game surge with a 38-27 win over Ottawa.
The Lions then beat Calgary 52-23 at home, before returning home to down Toronto 27-22 and Calgary 38-24.
Verdict
BC have a playoff place secure, but they will want to maintain this momentum heading into the postseason.
