Edmonton Elks Form
Edmonton come into this game with a league-worst 2-9 record, but having won their last two matchups.
The Elks opened the season with a 17-13 home defeat to Saskatchewan and quickly started piling up losses.
They went into their first bye week on the back of a 27-0 shutout defeat to the BC Lions – their second shutout loss of the season – and when they returned to action they lost 38-29 to Winnipeg.
Edmonton have now lost since though, winning each of their last two games to finally get off the mark.
The Elks stopped the rot with a 24-10 win at Hamilton, and then backed that up by beating Ottawa 30-20.
Calgary Stampeders Form
Calgary enter this matchup on a three-game losing skid that has dropped them to 3-8 for the season.
The Stampeders rebounded from a 25-15 opening-day defeat to the BC Lions with a 26-15 win in Ottawa, but they failed to build on that as they lost four of their next five games.
Their only win during that time was a 33-31 win in Saskatchewan in Week 6, with their next victory not coming until Week 9.
It was a big one though, as Calgary became the first team to beat defending champions Toronto, downing the Argonauts 20-7.
The Stampeders were unable to back that up, losing 37-9 at the BC Lions, 19-18 at home to Winnipeg, and 39-31 I Toronto.
Verdict
Calgary have had Edmonton’s number for several years now, and we are not expecting that to change on Monday.
