Hamilton enter the new season looking to rebound from a disappointing 2024 campaign that saw them miss out on the playoffs.
The Tiger-Cats opened with five consecutive defeats, before finally stopping the rot with a 27-24 upset of Toronto and a 44-29 victory in Edmonton.
They failed to keep that momentum going though, as they lost four straight to leave themselves at 2-9 heading into September.
Hamilton rallied as they won all four games that month to keep their postseason hopes alive, only to lose two of the final three to end their season.
The Tiger-Cats prepared for the new campaign with back-to-back pre-season games against defending champions Toronto, winning 24-16 at home and losing 30-23 on the road.
Calgary Stampeders Form
Calgary also come into the new campaign looking to rebound from a 2024 season that saw them miss out on the playoffs for the first time in two decades.
The Stampeders opened the season with a 32-24 victory over Hamilton, but they failed to establish any consistency over the following weeks.
In fact, they did not string together victories all season long, despite pulling off some upsets along the way.
A nine-game winless run between August and the middle of October ultimately served as a death knell for Calgary’s campaign.
The Stampeders warmed up for the 2025 season by winning back-to-back pre-season games, beating BC Lions 26-16 and Edmonton 31-4.

Calgary’s secondary is a big weakness for them, and that is a big problem here.
