The Roughriders opened the 2025 campaign at home and made the most of it, beating Ottawa 31-25.
They backed that up on the road over the next couple of weeks as they won 28-23 in Hamilton before downing the defending champion Argonauts in Toronto, 39-32.
Saskatchewan then improved to 4-0 as they beat BC 37-18 at home before the bye, but they failed to make it five straight wins when they returned to action last week.
The Roughriders suffered their first loss of the 2025 campaign as they fell to Calgary at home, 24-10.
BC Lions Form
BC enter this matchup having developed some momentum over the past couple of weeks, winning back-to-back games.
The Lions enjoyed a winning start to the season as they beat Edmonton 31-14 at home, but their form nose-dived after that.
They dropped back-to-back meetings with Winnipeg, losing 34-20 on the road and 27-14 at home, before heading to Saskatchewan for a 37-18 defeat to the Roughriders.
BC finally stopped the rot at the start of July though, as they pulled off a 21-20 upset win in Montreal.
The Lions then made it back-to-back victories last weekend as they travelled to Edmonton to beat the Elks, 32-14.
Verdict
BC have found some form in recent weeks, but Saskatchewan are the team to back here.
The Roughriders have looked good through their first five games, and recently they have had a great knack for winning and covering against the Lions.
