The Blue Bombers have been a Grey Cup fixture in recent seasons, but gave themselves a mountain to climb when they lost six of their first eight games.
They have managed to climb that mountain though, thanks to an eight-game win streak between the start of August and early October.
Winnipeg returned from their second bye week of the season with back-to-back wins over Edmonton, before heading out on the road to beat Hamilton 31-10.
The Blue Bombers passed up on the chance to clinch the division in their last outing though, losing 13-11 to Toronto.
Montreal Alouettes Form
Montreal go into their final regular season game with top spot in the East Division and a playoff bye secured thanks to a 12-4-1 record.
The Alouettes kicked off the season with a five-game win streak, and then bounced back from a loss to Toronto, with another five game winning run.
Their form has cooled off since then, with just two wins in their last six games, but they had already done more than enough to make the postseason.
Montreal went into their final by week of the season on the back of a 37-31 defeat in Toronto.
The Alouettes returned to action with a 19-12 victory over Ottawa, only to then lose 27-3 when they visited BC last time out.
