Evian Championship Preview & Picks - Best Bets For The Womens's Major Golf Tournament

A competitive field of the world's elite golfers returns to the picturesque Evian Golf Club to contest the Evian Championship. Who will win the golf major this weekend?
Celine Boutier is back in France to defend her title after a six-stroke victory over Brooke Henderson in 2023.
Past and present major winners in the field for Thursday's tee-off include Amy Yang, Yuka Saso, Nelly Korda, Allisen Corpuz, Minjee Lee, Jeongeun Lee, Lilia Vu, Sei Young Kim, Hannah Green, Ashleigh Buhai, Anna Nordqvist, Sophia Popov, Hinako Shibuno, Celine Boutier, Georgia Hall, and Brooke M. Henderson.
These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Lilia Vu
Lilia Vu was in decent nick at the beginning of her season on the LPGA Tour, placing 18th at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, T55 at the LPGA Drive On Championship, T7 at the Honda LPGA Thailand before withdrawing from the HSBC Women's World Championship and the Blue Bay LPGA.
Vu finished T37 at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship and T21 at the Ford Championship in her subsequent two tournaments before bouncing back to her best, winning the Meijer LPGA Classic and placing T2 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
The number two ranked player has made two appearances at the Evian Championship, with results of MC in 2022 and T42 in 2023.
Vu will start confidently to emerge as the winner at the Evian Resort Golf Club after her recent displays on the golf course.
Atthaya Thitikul
Atthaya Thitikul began her season on the LPGA Tour with a solid 12th overall result at the Chevron Championship before she missed the cut at the Cognizant Founders Cup.
However, she returned to form in her subsequent four events, placing T7 at the Mizuho America's Open, T6 at the U.S. Women's Open, 4th at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, T8 at the Meijer LPGA Classic before finishing T52 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
The world's 12th-ranked golfer has an excellent record at the Evian Championship, placing T64 in 2017, 5th in 2021, T8 in 2022 and T9 in 2023.
Thitikul has been posting top results lately and can make the frame in France this weekend.
Jin Young Ko
Jin Young Ko had an excellent start to her season on the LPGA Tour, placing T20 at the Honda LPGA Thailand, T8 at the HSBC Women's World Championship, MC at the Chevron Championship, T4 at the JM Eagle LA Championship and T12 at the Cognizant Founders Cup.
Ko's form dipped after those performances, finishing T49 at the Mizuho Americas Open and T29 at the U.S. Women's Open before regaining her touch, placing T12 at the Shoprite LPGA Classic and T2 at the KPMG PGA Championship.
The world's third-ranked golfer has featured seven times at the Evian Championship, with results of 28th in 2015, T39 in 2016, T26 in 2018, victory in 2019, T60 in 2021, T8 in 2022 and T20 in 2023.
Ko has come good recently and tasted success at the Evian Resort Golf Club in 2019.
Ally Ewing
Ally Ewing produced average to solid results in her opening eight tournaments on the LPGA Tour, finishing T4 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, T55 at the LPGA Drive Championship, T44 at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship and T56 at the Ford Championship.
The American was then T12 at the T-Mobile Match Play, T30 at the Chevron Championship, T25 at the JM Eagle LA Championship and T21 at the Mizuho Americas Open.
However, Ewing has found another lately, placing T3 at the U.S. Women's Open, 4th at the Meijer LPGA Classic and T5 at the KPMG PGA Championship.
The world's 16th-ranked player has achieved mixed results at the Evian Championship, finishing T30 in 2016, 13th in 2017, 43rd in 2018, T11 in 2019, MC in 2021, T54 in 2022 and MC in 2023.
Ewing has been in contention to win lately and can get over the finish line in France this weekend.
Verdict
Atthaya Thitikul will fancy her chances to lift the trophy as she comes into this Major on the back of four top-ten results in five starts.
Jin Young Ko has the form to win for the second time at the Evian Resort Golf Club come Sunday.
Ally Ewing has gone close to winning in recent starts and will have a chance of victory in France this weekend.
