The Marlins began this good run at home as they bounced back from a series-opening loss to San Diego with 4-3 and 3-2 wins over the Padres.
They backed that up with 5-1 and 7-4 wins in Milwaukee, only to then lose 3-2 to the Brewers and 7-1 in St Louis.
Miami rebounded to take the last two meetings with the Cardinals, 5-0 and 2-0, before sweeping the New York Yankees at home, winning 13-12, 2-0 and 7-3.
The Marlins’ run was ended by a 8-2 and 7-3 defeats to Houston, but they rallied to take the series finale 6-4.
Atlanta Braves Form
Atlanta head into this series having just been swept by Milwaukee to continue their poor recent form.
The Braves’ rough run began with 12-9 and 4-2 defeats to the New York Yankees, and they then failed to build on a 9-5 win over San Francisco as they lost 0-9 and 9-3 to the Giants.
Their losing skid continued as they were swept in Texas, losing 8-3, 6-5 and 8-1, and they then lost two of their three games in Kansas City as they were unable to back up a 10-7 win.
Atlanta were beaten 9-6 and 1-0 by the Royals, but did fare better in Cincinnati as they sandwiched a 3-2 defeat to the Reds with 12-11 and 4-2 wins.
The Braves’ return home this week has not gone to plan though, as they have lost 3-1, 7-2 and 5-4 to Milwaukee.
Verdict
Miami have been on a good run recently and pitcher Eury Perez has found some form.
The same cannot be said for Atlanta and starter Chris Carrasco, so we are siding with the Marlins here.
