The Giants ended July on a rough run as they were swept at home by both the New York Mets and Pittsburgh, losing six straight games.

San Francisco then made it three wins in a row with a 5-0 victory over Washington, only to lose the next two meetings with the Nationals, 4-2 and 8-0.
The Giants' losing skid then reached four games in this series with San Diego, as they lost 4-1 and 5-1 to the Padres.
Verdict
San Diego racked up another win last night, getting the better of San Francisco for the sixth time this season.
Therefore we have to go with the hotter hand here, especially with the Padres having a pitching advantage.
