Brandon Moreno is a two-time former UFC flyweight champion and #1 ranked contender with a 21-7-2 record (5 KOs, 11 Subs).
Moreno forced his way into a title shot with a three-fight win streak between 2019 and 2020 that included a first-round TKO win over Brandon Royval.
He failed to win the belt at the first attempt though, as he went to a majority draw with Deiveson Figueiredo.
‘The Assassin Baby’ took his second chance, submitting Figueiredo in the third round of their rematch in June 2021, only to then lose the trilogy fight via unanimous decision.
Moreno rebounded from that loss with a third-round TKO win over Kai-Kara France in July 2022, and that set up a fourth meeting with Figueiredo.
He finally settled that rivalry, stopping Figueiredo in three rounds to become champion for the second time, but once again he failed to make a successful defence.
This time the 30-year-old Mexican lost the belt to Alexandre Pantoja via split decision.

Brandon Royval is the #3 ranked flyweight contender with a professional record of 15-7 (5 KOs, 8 Subs).
Royval joined the UFC in 2020 and got off to a flying start with second-round submission wins over Tim Elliott and Kai-Kara France.
His momentum then stalled as he was stopped by Brandon Moreno in the first round, before submitting to Alexandre Pantoja in the second.
The 31-year-old American rebounded in 2022, recording back-to-back wins to get back into the title hunt.
Royval edged Rogerio Bontorin by split decision, and followed that up with a first-round submission of Matt Schnell.
He then made it three-in-a-row with a first-round knockout of Matheus Nicolau, and that was enough to earn him a shot at the flyweight crown.
‘Raw Dawg’ was unable to take his big chance however, dropping a unanimous decision to Alexandre Pantoja.

Injury was a massive factor in Brandon Moreno beating Brandon Royval a couple of years ago.
