Ilia Topuria us a former UFC featherweight champion with a perfect professional record of 16-0 (6 KOs, 8 Subs).
Topuria debuted in the UFC in late 2019 and wasted no time in making an impact as he quickly climbed the ladder.
He beat Youssef Zalal by decision in his debut fight, and backed that up with first-round knockouts of both Damon Jackson and Ryan Hall.
The 28-year-old German then briefly moved up to lightweight to knock out Jai Herbert in the second rebound, before making a successful returned to featherweight with a second-round submission success against Bryce Mitchell.
Topuria then beat Josh Emmett by unanimous decision in June 2023, and that was enough to earn him a shot at the featherweight crown.
‘El Matador’ took his big opportunity, knocking out Alexander Volkanovski in the second round in February of last year.
He then made his first and only defence of the crown last October, as he stopped Max Holloway with strikes in the third round.

Charles Oliveira is a former UFC lightweight champion with a professional record of 35-10 (10 KOs, 21 Subs) with 1 No Contest.
Oliveira made his UFC debut back in August 2010 and went on to face a who’s who of fighters to establish himself as a premier fighter in the lighter weights.
He enjoyed his best run under the UFC banner between June 2018 and May 2022, as he won 11 consecutive fights to reach the summit in the lightweight division.
That streak began with four straight submission wins as he stopped Clay Guida in the first, Christos Giagos in the second, Jim Miller in the first and David Teymur in the second.
Oliveira then knocked out Nik Lentz in the second and Jared Gordon in the first, before tapping out Kevin Lee in the third.
He then beat Tony Ferguson on points in December 2020, and that earned him his first ever fight for a UFC title.
The 35-year-old Brazilian claimed the title and set a new UFC record for most finishes as he knocked out Michael Chandler in the second round to claim the vacant lightweight crown.
Oliveira retained the belt with a third-round submission win over Dustin Poirier, only to be stripped of the championship several months later when he failed to make weight for a first-round submission win over Justin Gaethje.
His first attempt to regain the lightweight title ended in failure as he was submitted by Islam Makhachev in the second round, but he did rebound in his next outing by knocking out Beneil Dariush in the first.
The Brazilian failed to back that up as he dropped a split decision to Arman Tsarukyan, only to bounce back last November with a points victory over Michael Chandler.
Verdict
Ilia Topuria was a wrecking ball at featherweight and we expect more of the same at lightweight.
It is only a matter of time before he rattles Charles Oliveira with a big shot, and when he does we expect him to ruthlessly take out the former champion.
