Gabriel Bonfim Form
Gabriel Bonfim is the number 14 ranked welterweight contender with a career record of 18-1 (3 KOs, 13 Subs).
Bonfim signed with the UFC in late 2022 following a successful appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series.
He debuted with a 49-second submission of Mounir Lazzez, and backed that up by tapping out Trevin Giles in 73 seconds.
The 28-year-old Brazilian failed to make it three-in-a-row as he suffered a TKO loss to Nicolas Dalby in November 2023, but he has not lost since.
Bonfim got back on track with a unanimous decision win over Ange Loosa in his sole outing in 2024, and has followed that up with two more wins this year.
‘Marretinha' beat Khaos Williams by second-round submission in February, and followed that up with a decision victory over Stephen Thompson back in July.
Randy Brown Form
Randy Brown is an unranked welterweight with a professional record of 20-6 (8 KOs, 5 Subs).
Brown first debuted in the UFC back in January 2016 and over the first few of years he went 6-4 inside the Octagon.
He enjoyed a four-fight win streak after, starting with a first-round submission victory over Alex Oliveira.
The 35-year-old Jamaican followed that up with three straight decision wins, beating Jared Gooden, Khaos Williams and Francisco Trinaldo on points.
Brown’s run was halted by a 133-second submission loss to Jack Della Maddalena in February 2023, but he quickly responded with a decision win over Wellington Truman.
‘Rude Boy’ then knocked out Muslim Salikhov in 197 seconds, before out-pointing Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos over three rounds.
That win streak was ended by a decision defeat to Bryan Battle last December, but he bounced back in April with a second-round knockout of Nicolas Dalby.
Verdict
Gabriel Bonfim has a size disadvantage, but that is unlikely to matter here.
He can time Randy Brown’s strikes to get in close, take him down and work his way to a submission finish.
