Valentina Shevchenko is the current two-time women’s flyweight champion with a career record of 24-4 (8 KOs, 7 Subs) with 1 draw.
Shevchenko made her UFC debut in December 2015 and quickly established herself as a premier fighter with three defeats in her first five fights.
Both of those losses came against the legendary Amanda Nunes, and both came on the judges’ scorecards.
The second of those defeats was in a bantamweight title fight in September 2017, and following that loss she made the decision to move to flyweight.
That decision paid off as ‘Bullet’ submitted Priscila Cachoeira in the second round, and in her next fight she beat Joanna Jedrzejczyk on points to win the vacant title.
Shevchenko then knocked out Jessica Eye in round two in her first defence of the title, before beating Katlyn Chookagian via TKO and Jennifer Maia on points to close out 2020.
She added two more successful defences in 2021, knocking out Jessica Andrade in the second and Lauren Murphy in the fourth, before edging Talia Santos by split decision in her only outing of 2022.
Her reign finally came to an end in March 2023 as she was submitted in the fourth round by Alexa Grasso, and when the two women fought again six months later they went to a split decision draw.
Shevchenko regained the title in the trilogy fight though, beating Grasso by unanimous decision.

Manon Fiorot is the number two ranked flyweight contender with a professional record of 12-1 (6 KOs).
Fiorot has rebounded from a career-opening loss with a 12-fight win streak that has propelled her into contention.
She signed with the UFC in early 2021 after a successful run on the minor scene, and she made a successful debut by knocking out Victoria Leonardo in the second round.
The 35-year-old French fighter fought twice more that year, stopping Tabatha Ricci with strikes in the second round before out-pointing Mayra Bueno Silva.
Fiorot then fought twice in 2022 and continued her climb up the ladder with unanimous decision victories over both Jennifer Maia and Katlyn Chookagian.
She then beat Rose Namajunas on points in 2023, before out-pointing Erin Blanchfield in five rounds in March 2024.
