What Is The 2026 NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest Format?
The 2026 competition sees a slight change in format, with players now receiving 70 seconds to score as many points as they can from the five racks placed around the three-point line, with each rack holding five balls.
The first four shots made on the first four racks will be worth one point, with the final ball on each of those racks – known as the ‘money ball’ – being worth two points. The final rack will consist of five ‘money balls’ worth two points each.
At the end of the first round the three players with the highest score will advance to the championship round.
The championship round will then follow the same format as round one, with the player scoring the most points crowned the NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest champion.
Verdict
Few men have shot the 3-ball better than Kon Knueppel this season – in fact only one man boasts a better accuracy in this entire line-up, and that man, Bobby Portis, has taken half as many three-point attempts.
