That proved to be the start of a three-game losing skid that also saw them lose at home to Boston, 119-110, and Phoenix, 132-109.
Dallas stopped the rot with a 148-143 win in Atlanta, only to then return home for a 120-115 defeat to Sacramento.
The Mavericks rebounded with a 131-129 win over Orlando, but they failed to back that up as they were smashed 121-87 in Minnesota and then lost 129-117 at home to Milwaukee.
Philadelphia 76ers Form
Philadelphia’s form has nose-dived over the past couple of weeks with five defeats coming in their last six games.
The 76ers hit a hot streak in the middle of January, when they embarked on a six-game win streak that included a 126-121 win over defending champions Denver.
That run came to a halt in Indiana though, as they were beaten 134-122 in Indiana, and they have struggled to get back on track ever since.
Philadelphia then lost 111-105 in Denver, before heading to Portland for a 130-104 defeat and the Bay area for a 119-107 loss to Golden State.
The 76ers avoided a fifth straight loss by winning 127-124 in Utah, but their joy was short-lived as they then returned home to lose 136-121 to Brooklyn.
Verdict
Neither team is in good form, but there is one big reason to be optimistic about Dallas' chances.
