Los Angeles go into the second game of this double-header with Houston having made it six wins in a row in Monday’s meeting.
The Lakers lost three straight in late February, only to answer with a three-game win streak of their own.
That run was ended by a 120-113 defeat in Denver on March 5, but they have not tasted defeat since then, sparking this run with a 128-117 victory over Indiana.
Los Angeles backed that up with further home wins as they downed New York, 110-97, Minnesota, 120-106, Chicago, 142-130 and Denver, 127-125 in overtime.
The Lakers then made it six wins in a row on Monday as they visited Houston and beat the Rockets 100-92.
Houston Rockets Form
Houston enter this matchup on an inconsistent run of form, having split their first eight games of the month.
The Rockets have not strung together wins since late February, when they won three straight before closing out the month with a 115-105 defeat in Miami.
They bounced back in their first game in March, beating Washington 123-118 on the road, only to then suffer a 115-113 overtime defeat when they returned home to face Golden State.
Houston answered with a 106-99 victory against Portland, and then responded to a 145-120 defeat in San Antonio with a 113-99 success at home to Toronto.
The inconsistency continued though, as they failed to build on last Friday’s 107-105 win in New Orleans, losing 100-92 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
Verdict
Houston are expected to issue an immediate response to Monday’s loss, but right now it is tough to have too much confidence in the Rockets.
