The Heat failed to build on an opening-night win as they lost their next four games, but they have come storming back with a vengeance.
They sparked a seven-game win streak with home wins against Washington, 121-114, and the Los Angeles Lakers, 108-107.
Miami then reeled off four wins in a row on the road, beating Memphis 108-102, Atlanta 117-109, San Antonio 118-113 and Charlotte 111-105, before heading home to down Brooklyn 122-115.
The Heats’ surge was finally ended by a 102-97 defeat in Chicago, but they avenged that loss with a 118-100 win two nights later, and backed it up with a 129-96 victory in Cleveland.
New York Knicks Form
New York come into this matchup on the back of a loss, but in solid form having won six of the last eight to improve to 8-6.
The Knicks made a 2-5 start to the season, but started to turn things around with a 111-97 win at home to the LA Clippers.
They then beat San Antonio 126-105 and Charlotte 129-107, before seeing their winning run end with a 114-98 loss in Boston.
New York rebounded immediately though, following up a 116-114 victory in Atlanta with a 120-99 win in Washington and a 122-108 success in Charlotte.
The Knicks again failed to string together four wins though, wrapping up that road trip with a 117-100 defeat at Minnesota.
Verdict
Injuries are a concern for Miami, but given the form they have been in they make for an appealing pick with the points.
