New York head to Miami looking to follow up last week’s home win over the Heat that improved them to 8-4.
The Knicks opened the season with back-to-back wins at home, beating Cleveland 119-111 and Boston 106-195.
They then went cold as they lost three straight on the road, 115-107 in Miami, 121-111 at Milwaukee and 135-125 in Chicago, but their response at home was strong.
New York snapped the skid with a 128-116 win over Chicago, and backed that up by beating Washington 119-102, Minnesota 137-114, Brooklyn 134-98 and Memphis 133-120.
The Knicks’ run was ended by a 124-107 loss to Orlando, only for them to issue an immediate response in the form of a 140-132 win over Miami.

Miami return home looking to snap a two-game losing sequence that dropped their record to 7-6.
The Heat began the season with a 125-121 defeat in Orlando, but responded with a three-game streak that saw them beat Memphis 146-114, New York 115-107 and Charlotte 144-117.
That run was ended by a 107-101 loss at San Antonio and a 130-120 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers, and they then failed to back up a 120-119 win at the LA Clippers as they lost 122-112 in Denver.
Miami got back on track at home, following up a 126-108 win over Charlotte with a 136-131 victory against Portland and a 140-138 overtime success against Cleveland.
The Heat’s run was ended by a 130-116 defeat to the Cavaliers, and that was followed by a 140-132 defeat in New York last time out.
Verdict
New York downed the Heat in the Garden last week, but now they are heading out on the road without some important talent.
