The Red Raiders went into the Big 12 tournament having wrapped up the regular season with three consecutive wins.
They sandwiched a 91-75 victory at home to Colorado with road successes against Kansas, 78-73, and Arizona State, 85-57.
Texas Tech then made it four wins in a row in the quarter-finals of the conference tournament as they took down Baylor, 76-74.
However, the Red Raiders’ quest to reach the final was brought to a halt in the semis, as they suffered an 86-80 defeat at the hands of Arizona.
UNC Wilmington Form
UNC Wilmington are riding a six-game win streak into the first round of the national tournament.
The Seahawks dropped back-to-back games in late February, but rallied to close out the regular season with three consecutive wins.
They beat William & Mary 79070 and Campbell 79-60 on the road, before returning home to take down Delaware, 88-58.
UNC Wilmington kept their win streak going to advance to the final of the CAA tournament, beating Hampton 79-65 and College of Charleston 68-67.
The Seahawks then clinched the conference championship with a 76-72 success against Delaware in the final.
