The Hurricanes were handed a blockbuster start to the season in the form of a home opener against Notre Dame, and they shone under the bright lights with a 27-24 win over the Irish.
They backed that up the following week with a 45-3 blowout of Bethune-Cookman, sending them in to a run of three big games against state rivals in the best possible form.
Miami FL dominated a South Florida team that had just upset Florida in ‘the Swamp’, beating the Bulls 49-12.
The Hurricanes then made it four wins in a row as they took down Florida at Hard Rock Stadium, winning 26-7.

Florida State enter this matchup on the back of their first defeat of the season, which dropped them to 3-1.
While the Seminoles were the victim of an upset a week ago, it was them who provided a shock on opening day.
They hosted Alabama for the season-opener and recorded a shock 31-17 victory over the Crimson Tide.
Florida State then backed up that victory with a 77-3 demolition of East Texas A&M, before blowing out Kent State in a 66-10 win.
However, the Seminoles’ perfect start was brought to a shuddering halt last week, as they suffered a surprise 46-38 defeat at Virginia.
Verdict
Florida State will be fired up after that shock loss, but we are sticking with the Canes on the road.
