The Hurricanes have bullied their way past Texas A&M and Ohio State, and that physicality on both sides of the football can help them break down the Rebels over four quarters.

Ole Miss enter the semi-finals of the College Football Playoffs riding a seven-game win streak dating back to late October.

The Rebels raced out of the blocks in the SEC as they won their first three conference games and six straight overall, a run that included a 24-19 win over LSU.

Their run was halted in the middle of October as they lost 43-35 at Georgia, but they rebounded quickly from that loss to close out the regular season on a five-game win streak that included four conference wins.

Ole Miss missed out on the conference championship, but they did earn a spot in the playoffs and they made light work of their first-round matchup, beating Tulane 41-10.

The Rebels then clinched a spot in the Fiesta Bowl by avenging the regular season defeat to Georgia, beating the Bulldogs 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl.

Miami go into this game on a tremendous run of form, having pulled off two playoff upsets as part of a six-game win streak.

The Hurricanes made an early statement as they beat Notre Dame 27-24 on opening night, and they backed that up over the next four weeks to go on a five-game tear.

They stumbled over the next few weeks as they lost twice in a three-game spell, but they steadied the ship over the final several weeks of the season with a four-game run that earned tem a playoff place.

Miami were handed a trip to College Station in round one of the playoffs and they stunned Texas A&M for a 10-3 victory.

The Hurricanes then topped that in the Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year’s Eve, as they knocked out defending national champions Ohio State, 24-14.

Verdict

Miami are on a fairytale run, and there are reasons to believe that they can ride this run all the way to a national championship.

The Hurricanes can do to Ole Miss what they did to Texas A&M and Ohio State, and bully their way to a Fiesta Bowl success.
