The Fighting Irish made a rough start to the season as they lost 27-24 at Miami and 41-40 at home to Texas A&M, but their response has been strong.
They finally got off the mark with a 56-30 win over Purdue, and backed that up with a 56-13 victory on the road in Arkansas.
Notre Dame then returned home to down Boise State 28-7 and NC State 36-7, and then claimed their first ranked win of the season as they took down USC, 34-24.
The Fighting Irish followed that up with a 25-10 win at Boston College, and then made it seven-in-a-row with a 49-10 blowout of Navy.

Pitt enter this matchup having won five straight games to improve their record to 7-2 and stay in the race for an ACC Championship Game berth.
The Panthers opened the season with a couple of non-conference wins, beating Duquesne 61-9 and Central Michigan 45-17, before falling 31-24 at West Virginia.
They then dropped their ACC opener against Louisville, 34-27, but their response to that setback has been strong.
Pitt rebounded with a 48-7 blowout of Boston College, and then went out on the road to down Florida State 34-31 and Syracuse 30-13.
The Panthers returned home after that to beat NC State 53-34, and backed that up on the road as they downed Stanford 35-20.
Verdict
Notre Dame’s ranking continues to be a hot topic, but what cannot be argued is the run they are on.
The Fighting Irish have won seven straight and are expected to make straightforward work of the Panthers once again.
