Philadelphia enter this game having snapped a three-game losing skid to in increase their lead at the top of the NFC East standings.
The Eagles raced out of the blocks as they won four straight games, beating Dallas and Kansas City along the way, only then cool off as they dropped back-to-back games.
They responded with a 28-22 victory in Minnesota, and backed that up by beating the New York Giants 38-20, Green Bay 10-7 and Detroit 16-9.
Philadelphia’s run was brought to a shuddering halt though, as they fell 24-21 at Dallas, and that was followed by a 24-15 loss to Chicago and a 22-19 overtime defeat at the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Eagles were able to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat though, as they blew out Las Vegas in a 31-0 home win.
Washington Commanders Form
Washington go into this Saturday matchup having finally snapped an eight-game win streak to improve to 4-10.
The Commanders came into the season with lofty expectations, but struggled for consistency over the first few weeks as they went 3-2, never stringing together wins.
Their form then nose-dived as a 25-24 home defeat to Chicago sparked an eight-game losing run that continued with a 44-22 defeat at Dallas and a 28-7 loss to Kansas City.
Washington then fell at home to Seattle, 38-14, and Detroit, 44-22, before heading to Madrid to lose 16-13 in overtime to Miami.
The Commanders’ skid continued on home soil as they lost 27-26 in overtime to Denver and 31-0 at Minnesota, but they finally stopped the rot last weekend as they downed the New York Giants, 29-21.
Verdict
Philadelphia have underwhelmed this season and have some serious issues.
However, they are still the better team and they have something to play for with a playoff place within touching distance, so we are backing the Eagles to deliver.
