The Sabres dropped back-to-back games in early February, falling 4-3 at Tampa Bay and 5-2 at home to Pittsburgh, but their response to those losses was emphatic.
They went out on the road to beat New Jersey 2-1, Florida 3-2 and Tampa Bay 6-2, before briefly returning home to down Vegas 3-2.
Buffalo then took their streak to eight games as they backed up a 5-1 victory in Pittsburgh with home successes against Nashville, 3-2, Tampa Bay, 8-7, and San Jose, 6-3.
The Sabres’ run was finally ended by a 2-1 loss to Washington, but they bounced back immediately with a 3-2 victory over Toronto last time out.
Vegas Golden Knights Form
Vegas enter this matchup on the back of a couple of wins, but having lost six of their previous nine games.
The Golden Knights won three straight in early February, but cooled off to lose the next three as they fell 3-2 at Washington, 5-0 in Pittsburgh and 3-2 at Buffalo.
They avoided a fourth straight loss as they edged Detroit 4-3 in overtime on the road, but they failed to build on that as they lost the next three.
Vegas suffered back-to-back defeats at home, falling 4-2 to both Minnesota and Edmonton, and then suffered a 2-1 defeat when they visited Dallas.
The Golden Knights have rallied at home though, backing up a 6-2 victory over Pittsburgh with a 4-0 shutout of Chicago.
Verdict
Vegas have home advantage, but Buffalo make for a highly appealing underdog in this one.
The Sabres are on a roll and have been stacking up wins on their travels, while they have also won six of the last eight meetings and two of the last three at T-Mobile Arena.
