They then opened up a three-game lead with a 6-2 success in their home opener, meaning one more win will send them to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Florida entered the conference finals on the back of a seven-game series with Toronto, and having gone 8-4 across the first two rounds of the postseason.
The Panthers made a dominant start as they went out on the road to win 6-2 and 2-0 at Tampa Bay.
They then responded to a 5-1 home loss with 4-2 and 6-3 wins to wrap up the series in five games.
Florida made a rough start to the second round as they lost back-to-back games in Toronto, 5-4 and 4-3, but they bounced back at home with 5-4 (OT) and 2-0 wins.
The Panthers then took the fifth game, 6-1 on the road, before bouncing back from a 2-0 home defeat with a series-clinching 6-1 win in Toronto.
Verdict
Florida are in complete control of this series after three straight convincing wins.
It is tough to see a way back for a Carolina team that simply has to win this matchup but has given up at least five goals in every game so far.
