Edmonton go into this matchup looking to level the Stanley Cup Finals series before heading back home for Game 5.
The Oilers began the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals with a 4-3 overtime victory over Florida, but now find themselves trailing after back-to-back defeats.
They lost 5-4 in overtime at home, before heading to Florida for a 6-1 blowout defeat in Game 3.
Edmonton went into this rematch of the 2024 Finals having gone 12-4 while eliminating Los Angeles, Vegas and Dallas.
The Oilers made a slow start as they lost back-to-back games in Los Angeles, 6-5 and 6-2, but they rebounded by winning the next four games to advance, taking them 7-4, 4-3 (OT), 3-1 and 6-4.
They kept that run going as they made a better start to the second round, beating Vegas 4-2 in regulation and 5-4 in overtime on the road.
Edmonton then bounced back from a 4-3 home defeat with a 3-0 win, before heading back to Vegas to wrap up the series with a 1-0 overtime win.
The Oilers lost their first game of the Western Conference Finals series with Dallas, 6-3, but once again rebounded strongly from a playoff loss.
They levelled the series with a 3-0 win in Texas, before returning home to take control with 6-1 and 4-1 wins at Rogers Place.
That gave Edmonton the chance to clinch on the road in Game 5, and they did just that as they beat the Stars 6-3 to secure their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Florida Panthers Form
Florida enter this matchup with an opportunity to open up a two-game series lead before the Stanley Cup Finals goes back to Edmonton.
The Panthers began this series with a narrow 4-3 defeat in Canada in Game 1, but they have rebounded well from that early setback.
They levelled the series with a 5-4 overtime win on the road, before heading back home to blowout the Oilers with a 6-1 victory that gave them a 2-1 series lead.
Florida came into the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals having won 12 of their 17 playoff games to eliminate Tampa Bay, Toronto and Carolina.
The Panthers made a fast start to the postseason as they won 6-2 and 2-0 at Tampa Bay, before rebounding from a 5-1 loss with series-clinching 4-2 and 6-3 victories over the Lightning.
They failed to repeat that fast start in the second round as they travelled to Toronto and lost 5-4 and 4-3 to the Maple Leafs.
Florida bounced back at home though, winning 5-4 in overtime and 2-0 in regulation, before going ahead in the series for the first time with a 6-1 win on the road.
The Panthers failed to clinch at home, losing 2-0 to the Maple Leafs, but they held their nerve in Game 7 as they went back out on the road to win 6-1 in Toronto.
They backed up that win as they raced out to a three-game lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, reeling off 5-2 and 5-0 wins in Carolina, before returning home to beat the Hurricanes 6-2.
Florida missed out on a series sweep as they were beaten 3-0 in Game 4, but they put that behind them when they returned to Carolina to clinch the series with a 5-3 win.
Verdict
These two teams continue to engage in high-scoring affairs, and until that changes we will be sticking with the Over.
