They then recorded their biggest win of the tournament so far, beating defending champions Finland via a shootout.
The wins kept coming for the Swedes as they made it four-in-a-row with a 7-1 rout of Hungary, and that was backed up by a 4-0 shutout win against France.
Sweden then made it six wins in a row on Monday, beating Denmark 4-1 in an all-Scandinavian battle.
United States Form
The United States go into their final group game having won all six outings at the tournament so far.
They made a superb start to the World Championship by downing defending champions Finland, 4-1, in their opening game.
