The Rave Green followed a successful group campaign with a 4-0 win over LA Galaxy and a 1-0 loss at Minnesota. Seattle were also held to a 0-0 Leagues Cup draw with Puebla before advancing on penalties.
The Sounders responded to their two-match winless streak with a 5-2 win at Sporting Kansas. Danny Musovski scored a hat-trick and Kalani Kossa-Rienzi and Snyder Brunell also found the net.
Verdict
LA are the more in-form team, and despite the loss to Seattle earlier this month they do have a solid recent record against the Sounders.
