Jiri Lehecka comes into this matchup with two clear advantages. His current level and form are well ahead of Arthur Fils, and he also holds a fine record at this venue.

With both the form edge and past success on his side, Lehecka shapes up as the more reliable pick to get the win here.

Lehecka’s Doha Record Stands Out

  • Lehecka reached the SF in both of his previous appearances at this event in 2023 and 2025.
  • His most recent QF win at tour level came against a French player, Bonzi in Brussels 2025.
  • This marks Arthur Fils’ best result so far on the Middle East swing.
  • Fils’ latest QF appearance ended in a loss to Felix Auger-Aliassime in Montpellier last month.

Lehecka Back In Form In Doha

Jiri Lehecka endured a stop-start January, largely due to fitness concerns, but he looks to have put those issues behind him and has returned to form nicely this week.

He has come through his first two matches in convincing fashion, beating Jenson Brooksby and Zizou Bergs in straight sets.

Lehecka also has an excellent track record at this venue. In his previous two visits to Doha, he reached the SF on both occasions, picking up notable wins over top players along the way, including Rublev and Alcaraz.

He enters this QF with a balanced 11–11 career record at this stage on tour. With his current form and past success at the event, this looks like a strong opportunity for him to push deep into the tournament once again.

Fils Settling Back Into Rhythm

Arthur Fils has only recently returned from an injury break, but he has done well to get back up to speed quickly.

He reached the quarterfinals in his first event back in Montpellier last month and has managed to repeat that feat in Doha this week.

While some of his performances have been a bit patchy, he has still found ways to win and keep his campaign alive.

This is Fils’ debut appearance in Doha, and only his second event in the Middle East overall after a first-round exit in Dubai last year.

Across his career, Fils holds a balanced record in tour-level quarterfinals, winning nine and losing nine.

Verdict

Jiri Lehecka is currently operating at a higher level than Arthur Fils and also owns an excellent record in Doha. Those two factors together make a strong case for backing him to keep his run going and reach yet another semifinal at this event.
