While the 31-year-old has been below average during day games, he was outstanding against the Indians earlier this year – limiting Cleveland to three hits and one run over 7 innings while striking out 11. Cole also has been extremely effective against current members of the Tribe, holding them to a slash line of .074/.082/.157.
New York, which may not have Joey Gallo (neck) in the lineup, has won four of Cole’s last five starts. Cole also has been nearly unbeaten against teams with a losing record this season. Meanwhile, Cleveland has lost 7 of Morgan’s last 11 starts.
