Valentina Shevchenko has lost just twice since signing with the UFC, and it was to the same woman.
Shevchenko lost to Amanda Nunes in 2016 and 2017 and there is no shame in losing to the greatest female fighter of all time.
And making that even more impressive is the fact she went the distance twice, and in the rematch she got the nod from one of the judges.
Since that second defeat to Nunes, Shevchenko has been on a tear.
She returned to flyweight to tap out Priscila Cachoeira and then bested Joanna Jedrzejczyk to win the vacant flyweight title.
Shevchenko knocked out Jessica Eye in her first defence and then bested Liz Carmouche over five rounds before knocking out Katlyn Chookagian.
‘Bullet’ made it four successful defences with a decision win over Jennifer Maia before stopping Jessica Andrade in April.
That TKO win took her record to 21-3, with seven wins coming via knockout and seven by submission.
Lauren Murphy Form
Lauren Murphy is enjoying her best run of form since signing with the UFC in 2015.
She struggled early on, dropping decisions to Sara McMann and Liz Carmouche in her first two fights.
She stopped the skid by knocking out Kelly Faszholz, but then dropped two of her next three fights,
sandwiching a win over Barb Honchak with decision losses to Katlyn Chookagian and Sijara Eubanks.
Murphy has not lost since that defeat to Eubanks in June 2018.
She knocked out Mara Romero Borella before edging a split decision win over Andrea Lee.
Roxanne Modafferi was then bested over three rounds before Murphy submitted Liliya Shakirova.
And the land her shot at the belt, Murphy beat Joanne Calderwood via split decision in June of this year.
That took her record to 15-4, with eight wins coming via knockout and one by submission. Her four losses have all come via decision.
