Is It Legal to Bet In Alaska?

NO! Sports betting - either in-person or online - has not yet been legalized by the State.

When Will It Be Legal To Bet In Alaska?

Governor Mike Dunleavy made an attempt to legalize sports betting in 2020 but that bid ended in failure and it is unknown if another attempt will be made anytime soon.

The lack of major sports and a small population means betting companies may decide against spending large sums lobbying in order to get a bill passed.

It should also be noted that Alaska is one of the five States without a State lottery at this time.

Can I Bet In Other States While It Is Banned In Alaska?

Most States that allow in-person and online gambling do not require you to be a resident in order to place a bet. However, you must register and place your bets within State lines, and you must also be aged 21 or older.
