  • Oleksandr Usyk is unbeaten in 21 professional fights
  • 3 of Oleksandr Usyk’s last 4 fights have gone the distance
  • Tyson Fury’s 2 previous fights against southpaws went 12 rounds

Tyson Fury Form

Tyson Fury is the WBC world heavyweight champion with a professional record of 34-0-1 (24 KOs).

Fury became a world champion for the first time in November 2015 when he beat Wladimir Klitschko on points.

He then spent over two years on the sidelines before finally returning with a couple of fights in the summer of 2018.

‘The Gypsy King’ ended that year with a world title fight against Deontay Wilder that went to a controversial draw after he dominated but got knocked down twice late on.

Fury fought and won twice in 2019 before finally meeting Wilder again In February 2020, and on this occasion he left no doubts by dominating and stopping ‘The Bronze Bomber’ in the seventh.

He then knocked out Wilder in the 11th round of their trilogy fight in October 2021, before spending 2022 fighting domestic opposition.

‘The Gypsy King’ stopped Dillian Whyte in the sixth round and Derek Chisora in the 10th to continue his reign as WBC champion.

Fury then fought once in 2023 and was sensationally knocked down as he scraped a split decision win over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who was making his boxing debut.

Oleksandr Usyk Form

Oleksandr Usyk is the current WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine heavyweight champion with a record of 21-0 (14 KOs).

Usyk established himself as the premier cruiserweight fighter on the planet between 2013 and 2018, becoming undisputed champion.

After knocking out Tony Bellew in the eighth round in November 2018, he made the move up to the heavyweight division.

‘The Cat’ beat Chazz Witherspoon by stoppage in his debut, and the following year he beat former world title challenger Derek Chisora by decision.

That earned him a shot at world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in September 2021, and he took his big chance with a unanimous decision win over the British fighter.

Usyk successfully defended the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine titles in the rematch with Joshua, this time beating AJ by split decision.

He then made one defence of those belts in 2023, knocking out Daniel Dubois in the ninth round last August.

Verdict

Usyk is the most skilled fighter that Fury has faced in a long time and that could be telling here.

He is backed to use his elite footwork to keep Fury off him, stick and move and pepper his way to a points win.
