BC head back out on the road having rebounded from a season-opening defeat with a win last time out.
The Lions opened up the 2024 campaign with a 35-27 defeat in Toronto, but put that behind them in their home opener as they beat Calgary 26-17.
They will now look to build on that victory as they bid to make another run towards the CFL’s postseason.
BC made the playoffs in 2023, compiling a 12-6 record to set up a postseason showdown with Calgary, which they won 41-30.
The Lions failed to followed that up in the West Final though, as they were beaten 24-13 by Friday’s opponents Winnipeg.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg come into this matchup in desperate need of a victory, having opened the season with back-to-back defeats.
The Blue Bombers have been one of the CFL’s very best for several years now, making the Grey Cup in each of the last four seasons.
They went 2-2 in those Grey Cup appearances, with their most recent being the 28-24 defeat to Montreal last November.
Therefore it was no surprise to see Winnipeg being made a favorite to go all the way in 2024, but so far they have not lived up to that billing.
The Blue Bombers opened the campaign with a 27-12 defeat to the Alouettes in a rematch from last season’s Grey Cup, and that was followed by a 23-19 loss in Ottawa a week ago.
Verdict
Winnipeg have spluttered offensively during a rough start to the season.
BC, on the other hand, have made a decent start and have an offense that is putting up a good number of points, so give us the Lions and the free points in this one.
