Edmonton head to Hamilton having lost two of their last three games to slip to 5-8 on the season.
The Elks opened up the 2025 campaign with a three-game losing skid, and then failed to build on a 39-33 win over Ottawa as they lost the next three.
They found some form in August though, as a 23-22 win in Montreal sparked a three-game run that saw them down Toronto, 28-20, and Ottawa, 30-20.
Edmonton’s run was ended by a 28-7 defeat in Calgary, although they rebounded quickly to beat the Stampeders at home a week later, 31-19.
The Elks failed to back that up last weekend though, as they suffered a 31-30 defeat in Toronto.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats Form
Hamilton have maintained top spot in the division by winning back-to-back games to improve to 8-5.
The Tiger-Cats made a rough start as they dropped their first two games to head into the bye week at 0-2.
They rallied after the restart though, as a 35-17 win over Montreal sparked a six-game win streak that saw them beat Toronto 51-38, Ottawa 23-20 and 30-15, BC Lions 37-33, and Edmonton 28-24.
Hamilton’s run was finally ended by a 41-38 overtime defeat the BC Lions, and they struggled to rebound as they then lost 29-9 in Saskatchewan and 35-33 at home to Toronto.
The Tiger-Cats did finally end that skid with a 26-9 win in Montreal, and they were able to back that up as they downed Winnipeg at home, 32-21.
Verdict
The team playing on the road has tended to win recent meetings, but we have seen enough this season to suggest that trend will end here.
Hamilton are the better team and they appear to be back on track after a recent wobble.
