Edmonton are tipped to cover as a betting underdog in Toronto.

The Argonauts have found some form over the past couple of weeks, but the Elks do boast a win over them already this season and they have been covering routinely on the road.

Edmonton head to Toronto on their best run of form this season, having won four of their last five games to improve to 5-7.

The Elks opened the season with a three-game losing skid, before finally getting off the mark with a 39-33 victory at home to Ottawa.

They failed to build on that though as they lost their next three games, but they have managed to kick-start their playoff quest over the past five.

Edmonton halted their losing run with a 23-22 victory in Montreal, and then put together a season-best run as they beat Toronto 28-20 at home and Ottawa 30-20 on the road.

The Elks failed to make it four-in-a-row as they fell 28-7 in Calgary, but they were able to avenge that loss last week as they downed the Stampeders at home, 31-19.

Toronto Argonauts Form

Toronto return from the bye week looking to string together three consecutive wins for the first time this season.

The Argonauts lifted the Grey Cup in 2024, but their defence of the crown has been hugely disappointing so far.

They kicked off the season with a three-game losing skid, and then won just two of their next four to find themselves at 2-5 heading into August.

Last month proved to be a miserable one for Toronto too as they were beaten 40-31 in Winnipeg, 46-46 at home to Ottawa and 28-20 in Edmonton.

The Argonauts ended the month on a positive note though, beating the BC Lions 52-34, and they were able to back that up in their first game of September as they defeated Hamilton 35-33.

Verdict

Toronto have won the last two, but their spread record at home makes for rough reading.

Edmonton, meanwhile, have been a solid spread bet in recent weeks, especially on the road, so give us the Elks and the free points against a team they beat by eight last month.
