The Alouettes opened the season with back-to-back wins, beating Ottawa 19-12 at home and Hamilton 38-12 on the road.
Their form dipped over the next few weeks though, as they faced three straight games against the frontrunners for the Grey Cup.
Montreal lost 17-3 at home to Winnipeg, 35-19 on the road at the BC Lions, and 35-27 at home to defending champions Toronto.
The Alouettes have rebounded strongly though, following up a 25-18 home win over Calgary with a 27-14 win at Hamilton, a 41-12 home blowout of Saskatchewan, and a 25-24 victory at Ottawa.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg have won each of their last four games to improve to 8-2 and retain top spot in the West Division.
The Blue Bombers began the season by following up a 42-31 win against Hamilton with a 45-27 defeat at Saskatchewan.
They then rebounded from a 30-6 blowout loss to the BC Lions with a 17-3 victory at Montreal and a 24-11 win over Calgary.
Winnipeg then suffered a shock 31-28 overtime defeat at Ottawa, but immediately rebounded to beat Edmonton 28-14 before the bye week.
Since returned to action the Blue Bombers have been on a tear, smashing the BC Lions 50-14 before winning 38-29 at Edmonton and 19-18 at Calgary.
Verdict
Winnipeg are the better team and a win is expected, but they are finding covers hard to come by and Montreal are on a roll heading into this.
