Ottawa head out on the road having lost four consecutive games to fall to 3-7 for the season.
The Redblacks opened with back-to-back defeats losing 19-12 at Montreal and 26-15 at home to Calgary.
They rebounded over the next few weeks though, beating Edmonton 27-6 before rebounding from a 21-13 defeat to Hamilton with a stunning 31-28 overtime upset of Winnipeg.
Ottawa then beat Calgary 43-41 to improve to .500, but it has been all downhill for them since then.
The Redblacks lost 16-12 to Hamilton, 26-24 at Saskatchewan, 44-31 at Toronto and 25-24 at home to Montreal.
Edmonton Elks Form
Edmonton come into this game with a league-worst 1-9 record but on the back of their first win.
The Elks opened with a 17-13 home defeat to Saskatchewan, and were then shutout in a 22-0 road defeat to the BC Lions.
From there they lost 43-31 to defending champions Toronto, before heading out on the road to lose 27-6 at Ottawa and 12-11 in Saskatchewan.
Edmonton’s winless start then reached eight games before the bye as they sandwiched a 28-14 loss at Winnipeg with a 37-29 defeat to Hamilton and a 27-0 loss to BC.
The Elks’ slide then reached nine games with a 38-29 loss to Winnipeg when they returned to action, but they finally got off the mark last weekend as they ran out 24-10 winners at Hamilton.
Verdict
Two bad teams collide here, but Ottawa have shown a little more and did beat Edmonton earlier this season, so we give the Redblacks the edge on the road.
