The Redblacks won just four games last season, but they are already halfway towards that total thanks to their best start to a season since 2019.
They sat out the first week of the campaign with a bye, but made an immediate splash in Week 2 as they stunned Winnipeg at home, 23-19.
Ottawa went out on the road a week later and suffered a 47-21 defeat at the hands of defending champions Hamilton.
The Redblacks rebounded last weekend though, as they downed Hamilton at home, winning the matchup 24-22.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg return home in desperate need of a victory, having lost their first four games of the season.
The Blue Bombers have appeared in the last four Grey Cup Finals, and were expected to be a leading contender in 2024.
However, they opened the season with a 27-12 defeat to defending champions Montreal and have not been able to bounce back.
Winnipeg were beaten 23-19 in Ottawa in their road-opener, and then lost 26-24 when they returned home to face the BC Lions in Week 3.
The Blue Bombers’ miserable run then reached four games a week ago, as they were beaten 22-19 in overtime in Calgary.
Verdict
Winnipeg have endured a nightmare start, but we expect them to avenge that Week 2 loss.
The Blue Bombers’ defense has been strong despite their poor record, and a meeting with a poor Ottawa defense could be just what the doctor ordered for this Winnipeg offense.
