Saskatchewan Roughriders at Calgary Stampeders Preview & Picks

Saskatchewan are tipped to avenge their only defeat of the season so far.

The Roughriders fell to Calgary last month, but they have been on a tear since then and are the hottest team in the CFL right now.

  • Saskatchewan Roughriders are 8-1 this season
  • Calgary Stampeders are 1-2 in their previous 3 games
  • The Under has cashed in 4 of Saskatchewan’s last 5 games
  • The Under has hit in 5 of Calgary’s previous 8 games

Head To Head

  • Calgary Stampeders lead the series 6-2 since October 2022
  • Calgary Stampeders won 24-10 when the two teams last met on July 12

Saskatchewan Roughriders Form

Saskatchewan head out on the road in excellent form, having won four straight games to improve their league-best record to 8-1.

The Roughriders kicked off the season with a 31-27 victory over Ottawa, and backed that up with a 28-23 success when they visited Hamilton.

They then won 39-32 in Toronto and 37-18 at home to BC to go into the bye week at 4-0, but made a losing return to action as they fell 24-10 to Calgary.

Saskatchewan have not lost since though, sparking a four-game tear with a 33-27 victory at the BC Lions.

The Roughriders then downed Edmonton 21-19 at home, Montreal 34-6 on the road and Hamilton 29-9 at home.

Calgary Stampeders Form

Calgary return from their second bye week of the season looking to build on a win over Winnipeg that took them to 6-3.

The Stampeders opened the season with back-to-back victories, beating Hamilton 38-26 at home and Toronto 29-19 on the road.

Their perfect start was ended by a 20-12 loss to Ottawa before their first bye, but they responded well with a three-game win streak.

Calgary downed Winnipeg 37-16 at home, before heading out on the road to beat Saskatchewan 24-10 and the Blue Bombers again, 41-20.

The Stampeders’ charge was halted by a 23-21 loss to Montreal and a 31-11 defeat in Ottawa, but they rebounded before the bye with a 28-27 success against Winnipeg.

Verdict

Calgary are the only time to beat Saskatchewan this season and they have pretty much had the Roughriders’ number in recent series.

However, it is impossible to ignore how good the Riders have been so far, so we are backing the visitors to get their revenge.
