Toronto Argonauts at Montreal Alouettes Preview & Picks
Montreal are tipped to cover as they return to winning ways.
The Alouettes’ form has dipped, but they have already beaten Toronto this season and the Argonauts continue to stack up losses.

- Toronto Argonauts are 1-4 so far this season
- Toronto Argonauts are 1-4-0 ATS through their first 5 games
- The Under cashed in the meeting earlier this season
Head To Head
- Toronto Argonauts lead the series 7-3 since November 2022
- Montreal Alouettes won 28-10 when the two teams last met on June 6
Toronto Argonauts Form
Toronto head to Montreal in desperate need of a victory, having now lost four of the first games in their defence of the Grey Cup.
The Argonauts kicked off the campaign on the road and lost 28-10 to Montreal in a rematch of last year’s East Final.
That became back-to-back defeats as they dropped their home opener to Calgary, 29-19, and they then fell to 0-3 thanks to a 39-32 loss when they played host to Saskatchewan.
Toronto finally got off the mark with a 29-16 win in Ottawa at the end of June, but their joy was short-lived.
The Argonauts went into last week’s bye week on the back of a 51-38 defeat at the hands of Hamilton.
Montreal Alouettes Form
Montreal return from their bye week looking to get back on track after a couple of defeats dropped them to 3-2.
The Alouettes got a measure of revenge for last season’s playoff defeat as they beat Toronto 28-10 on opening weekend.
They then backed up that victory as they went out on the road to win back-to-back games and make it to 3-0.
Montreal first beat the Redblacks 39-18 in Ottawa, before moving on to Edmonton where they took down the Elks, 38-28.
The Alouettes’ form nose-dived after that though, as they followed up a 35-17 defeat in Hamilton with a 21-20 loss at home to the BC Lions.
Verdict
Montreal have lost their last two, but they have offered more reasons for optimism this season.
The Alouettes boast a win over the defending champions too, so we are backing the hosts to pile on the misery for Toronto.
