Diego Lopes is the number two ranked contender in the UFC featherweight division with a career record of 26-7 (10 KOs, 12 Subs).
Lopes rebounded from a failed appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021 to make his UFC less than two years later.
His first outing ended in disappointment as he lost to Movsar Evloev by unanimous decision, but he bounced back quickly to surge into title contention with five wins in 13 months.
The 30-year-old Brazilian notched his first UFC victory in August 2023 as he submitted Gavin Tucker in 98 seconds.
Lopes then topped that performance in November as he knocked out Pat Sabatini in 90 seconds, before kicking off 2024 with an 89-second knockout of Sodiq Yusuf.
That would prove to be his final stoppage win of the year, but he would continue to rack up wins.
He beat Dan Ige and Brian Ortega by unanimous decision to earn a shot at the vacant featherweight title, but his bid to become champion ended in disappointment.
Lopes dropped a unanimous decision when the faced Alexander Volkanovski for the gold in April.

Jean Silva is the number 10 contender in the featherweight division with a career record of 16-2 (12 KOs, 3 Subs).
Silva put together a 10-2 record on the Brazilian MMA scene to land himself a spot on Dana White’s Contender Series.
He took his chance too, earning himself a UFC contract with a unanimous decision win over Kevin Vallejos in September 2023.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has not gone the distance since then, making a splash in the UFC with a run of five consecutive stoppage wins.
Silva marked his debut with a 252-second knockout of Westin Wilson, and backed that up with a second-round knockout of Charles Jourdain.
He then backed that up with a third-round stoppage of Drew Dober to wrap up a highly successful 2024.
Silva’s successes have continued in 2025, as he broke into the top 10 by knocking out Melsik Baghdasaryan in the first round and submitting Bryce Mitchell in the second.
